Skin boosters are regenerative treatments designed to improve skin quality from within — not to change facial shape or add volume the way traditional dermal filler does. At Emana Medical, we use skin boosters to address hydration, fine lines, crepey skin, uneven texture, and loss of elasticity.
Skin boosting at Emana Medical is not a single injection you get and go home with. Dr. Eman Abdallah selects and, when appropriate, combines regenerative injectables with energy-based devices based on what your skin actually needs — because most skin concerns aren’t caused by just one thing, and rarely respond fully to just one treatment.

What Skin Boosters Can Improve
- Uneven skin texture
- Acne scarring and textural irregularities
- Under-eye skin quality
- Neck and décolleté aging
- Skin that has become less firm with age or weight loss
- Crepey or thin-appearing skin
- Fine lines and early wrinkles
- Loss of elasticity
- Dehydrated or dull-looking skin
Treatment can be customized for the face, under-eyes, neck, décolleté, hands, and selected areas of the body.
It Starts With What Your Skin Actually Needs
Not every skin concern has the same cause, so it shouldn’t have the same treatment. Before recommending a booster or device, we identify what’s driving the change in your skin—whether it’s dehydration (where skin looks dull, tight, or finely lined), collagen loss (where skin has thinned or lost density over time), laxity (loss of ability to snap back, often after weight loss or with age), texture irregularities like roughness, enlarged pores, or scarring, or a combination of the above, where most patients fall.
Your treatment plan is built around this assessment — not the other way around.
The Skin Boosters We Use
Hyaluronic Acid (HA) Skin Boosters
Unlike traditional HA fillers used to create volume or contour, injectable HA skin boosters are designed primarily to improve hydration, elasticity, smoothness, and overall skin quality.
How it's used: Injected in a series across the treatment area.
Best for: Hydration, fine lines, texture, and glow.
PDRN, Rejuran®
Rejuran contains polynucleotides, salmon-derived DNA fragments that help activate the skin's repair mechanisms. It supports skin repair and improves fine lines, particularly beneath the eyes.
How it's used: Injected, or used topically after resurfacing.
Best for: Thin, delicate, or crepey skin, such as the under-eye area.
PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma)
Derived from your own blood, the sample is processed to concentrate platelets rich in growth factors that support tissue repair and naturally stimulate collagen production.
How it's used: Injected, or applied topically after a laser procedure.
Best for: Overall rejuvenation and accelerating healing.
PDGF, Ariessence®
Ariessence is a bioengineered concentrate of platelet-derived growth factors that stimulates cellular regeneration and supports new collagen synthesis.
How it's used: Applied topically or injected.
Best for: Patients wanting a lab-formulated growth factor treatment.
Exosomes, Benev®
Benev exosomes are extracellular vesicles carrying growth factors and proteins that support cell communication, calm inflammation, and aid regeneration.
How it's used: Applied after a laser or RF microneedling session.
Best for: Recovery and enhancing the results of energy-based devices.
Collagen Biostimulators, Sculptra®
Biostimulatory injectables work differently from the treatments above. Rather than primarily providing hydration, they encourage the body's own collagen production over time.
How it's used: Injected in a series, with results building gradually over weeks to months.
Best for: More significant collagen loss, skin thinning, or laxity, usually as part of a broader rejuvenation plan.
Different skin layers respond to different treatments, which is why your plan is built around identifying what your skin actually needs, not applying the same product to everyone.
Which Skin Booster Is Right for You?
Most patients do best with a combination rather than a single treatment — which is exactly what we'll map out at your consultation.
Treating Crepey Skin
Crepey skin is rarely one problem. It’s usually a mix of collagen and elastin loss, thinning skin, dehydration, and sun exposure — which is exactly why simply adding filler often isn’t the answer.
Depending on what’s driving it, a plan for crepey skin may combine:
- Hydration support to address dehydration at the surface
- PDRN or PRP to support the skin's own regenerative response
- RF microneedling or laser resurfacing to stimulate deeper collagen remodeling
Common areas we treat for crepey skin include the under-eyes, neck, décolleté, hands, upper arms, abdomen, and knees.
Why We Often Combine Skin Boosters With Devices
An injectable or regenerative treatment works on the skin biologically. A device works by creating controlled stimulation that encourages the skin to remodel collagen and elastin on its own. Used together — or in the right sequence — they address the problem from two directions instead of one.
That’s the difference between a clinic that injects a product and sends you home, and a plan that’s actually built around your skin.
Depending on your goals, Dr. Abdallah may recommend pairing a skin booster with:
- Microneedling creates controlled micro-channels and triggers the skin's natural repair response, often used to deliver a booster more deeply
- Radiofrequency (RF) microneedling — adds heat-based collagen remodeling for concerns that involve both texture and laxity
- Ultrasound-based skin tightening — targets deeper tissue layers when additional tightening and collagen stimulation are desired
- Laser resurfacing — addresses surface and deeper layers for texture, fine lines, and sun damage
Treatments aren’t automatically performed on the same day. In many cases, we stage or space them out so each one has room to do its job and your skin has time to recover between sessions.
Skin boosters FAQs
Are skin boosters the same as filler?
No. Traditional filler restores volume or contours specific features. Skin boosters improve hydration, texture, and skin quality without significantly changing facial shape.
Can skin boosters help crepey skin?
Yes, depending on the cause and severity. When collagen loss or laxity is also involved, we often combine a regenerative booster with a device like RF microneedling for a more complete result.
Can skin boosters be used under the eyes?
Yes — PDRN and PRP are both used in the under-eye area. This skin is delicate, so the product and technique are selected carefully after an in-person assessment.
Do you always combine a booster with a device?
No. Combination treatment is common at Emana Medical, but not automatic. Some patients only need a booster; others benefit from staging a booster and a device across separate visits.
How many treatments will I need?
This varies considerably depending on the treatment selected, your skin quality, treatment area, and goals. Some treatments are performed as a series, while others require less frequent maintenance.

SEE SKIN BOOSTERS IN ACTION
@dremanabdallah If you’re already doing microneedling, why not maximize your results? 👀 Whether you’re doing traditional microneedling or RF microneedling, both treatments create controlled microinjuries in the skin, triggering the body’s natural healing response to rebuild collagen and elastin. Your skin is already in repair mode, which makes it an ideal time to introduce skin-boosting treatments like PRP, PRF, PDRN, polynucleotides, and more. Delivering these directly into the skin can help support the healing process while improving hydration, skin quality, and overall results.
