What Is alloClae?

A cultural shift is quietly reshaping the aesthetics conversation, and its catalyst isn’t a new laser or a novel toxin. It is a medication — one that has helped millions achieve dramatic weight loss, and in doing so, exposed a new and deeply personal concern: volume. Deflation. The softness that once defined a figure, gone.

The Ozempic era has created a patient who is thinner, healthier, and yet standing in front of the mirror asking: where did my curves go?

For years, the answer required a binary choice — synthetic fillers that dissolve, or surgery that scars. In 2025, a third path arrived.

alloClae (pronounced allo-clay) is the first structural adipose filler: an injectable derived from donated human fat tissue, engineered to restore volume, stimulate regeneration, and behave — from the inside out — like the body’s own fat. Launched by Tiger Aesthetics in early 2025, it is not simply a new product in an existing category. It is the category.

What Is alloClae Made From

To understand why alloClae represents a genuine leap forward, it helps to understand what it is — not just what it does.

alloClae is an allograft: it is derived from donated human fat tissue, sourced through accredited tissue banks and processed by Tiger BioSciences through a proprietary, five-step purification and sterilization protocol. This is not a synthetic polymer. It is not a hyaluronic acid gel. It is not a biostimulant that tricks the body into inflammation. It is human fat — refined to a point of remarkable clinical elegance.

That five-step process accomplishes something precise:

  • Removes cellular debris, free lipids, and donor DNA — dramatically reducing the risk of immune response
  • Preserves the intact adipocyte (fat cell) membrane and the fat’s natural three-dimensional honeycomb architecture
  • Retains the extracellular matrix (ECM) along with its naturally occurring growth factors, structural proteins, elastin, and collagen
  • Sterilizes the tissue to a sterility assurance level (SAL) of 10⁻⁶
  • Reduces the free oil fraction to less than 2%, minimizing the risk of oil cyst formation
  •

The result? A shelf-stable, ready-to-use injectable that is clean enough to be safe, and biologically intact enough to be transformative. It provides immediate physical volume on injection, while carrying the regenerative signals the body needs to rebuild tissue over time.

This is what separates alloClae from every other product on the aesthetic market: it does not ask the body to react to something foreign. It gives the body something it already knows how to use.

The Science Behind alloClae

Once injected subcutaneously, alloClae does not simply occupy space and wait to dissolve. It becomes part of the body's tissue architecture — a biologic scaffold that the body inhabits, remodels, and ultimately calls its o

Clinical data show effects sustained for 12 to 18 months or more, depending on the area treated and individual physiology. Because the stabilized results behave like natural fat, they respond to significant weight changes — just as the body's own fat would.

Benefits of alloClae

One of alloClae’s most compelling clinical advantages is its versatility. It is intended for subcutaneous application in localized areas of the body where adipose tissue naturally exists — which encompasses a wide range of the concerns that bring patients to our door.

Commonly treated areas include:

What makes these applications clinically feasible is also what makes alloClae unique among injectables: it arrives pre-packaged in sterile syringes in 12.5 cc and 25 cc configurations. This is a meaningful distinction. Treating the buttocks or hips requires real volume — not the 1–2 cc increments of a facial filler. alloClae is engineered for the scale that body contouring actually demands.

What to Expect?

alloClae is an in-office procedure typically performed under local anesthesia. It requires no liposuction, no general anesthesia, and no operating room. The treatment itself generally takes 30 to 60 minutes, depending on the area being treated. The filler arrives pre-packaged in sterile syringes and is injected into the target areas using a fine needle or cannula for precise placement.

Most patients experience mild swelling, bruising, or tenderness in the treated areas, which generally resolves within a few days. Most can return to normal daily activities within 24 to 48 hours. Strenuous exercise and pressure on treated areas should be avoided for a short period after treatment, as advised by the treating physician.

alloClae should not be used in patients with severe allergen sensitivities, a history of anaphylaxis, or in the presence of active infection. Potential complications, while uncommon, include cystic or nodule formations, pain, infection, hematoma, allergic or immune responses, or discoloration at the procedure site.

alloClae vs. The Alternatives: A Clinical Comparison

alloClae vs. Sculptra

Sculptra (poly-L-lactic acid, or PLLA) is an FDA-approved, synthetic biostimulator with a long clinical track record — used in Europe since 1999 and in the United States since 2004. Rather than providing volume directly, it triggers a controlled inflammatory response: PLLA microparticles are phagocytosed by the body’s macrophages, which in turn activate fibroblasts to produce new collagen.

The result is gradual. Most patients see the first noticeable improvement between weeks 8 and 12, with full results visible over three to six months. Two to four treatment sessions are typically required. Results generally last 18 to 24 months. One important safety consideration: Sculptra carries a risk of granuloma formation — small nodules that may appear weeks to years post-treatment. Patients are instructed to massage treated areas for five minutes, five times daily, for the first five days following each session to mitigate this risk.

alloClae vs. Renuva

Renuva (now also marketed as Leneva by MTF Biologics) is probably the closest comparator to alloClae because both are allograft adipose matrix (AAM) injectables — that is, both are derived from donated human fat tissue and serve as biologic scaffolds. Patients and even some providers occasionally use the names interchangeably, but there are meaningful differences.

Renuva was the first off-the-shelf allograft adipose matrix cleared for aesthetic use. It is an acellular product — the matrix is stripped of cells, leaving behind only the ECM scaffold, growth factors, collagen, and proteins. When injected, Renuva creates a honeycomb-like scaffold that the body then gradually populates with its own new fat cells over 3 to 6 months. Results from Renuva can potentially last for years — some practitioners report up to 10 years — as long as the regenerated fat cells remain viable.

alloClae, by contrast, retains intact adipocytes and the three-dimensional honeycomb structure of the fat itself alongside the ECM — giving patients more immediate, robust volume from the moment of injection, while also delivering the regenerative benefits of the preserved growth factors and ECM proteins. As one New York plastic surgeon explained:

"alloClae treatments give you actual fat cells to create immediate volume in addition to components that will help your body support and continue to build volume, whereas Renuva treatments are simply the components injected in hopes that your body will use them to create volume."

The other major difference is volume and treatment area. Renuva is available in syringes of 1.5 cc and 3 cc, making it most appropriate for smaller, precise areas. alloClae is packaged in 12.5 cc and 25 cc configurations — better suited for larger body areas such as the buttocks, hips, and breasts.

alloClae vs. HA Fillers

Hyaluronic acid fillers — such as Juvederm® and Restylane® — are synthetic gels made from a substance that occurs naturally in the skin and connective tissue. HA attracts and retains moisture, and when injected, it immediately adds volume and hydration to the treated area. HA fillers are among the most widely used aesthetic injectables in the world, valued for their safety, predictability, and reversibility (they can be dissolved with hyaluronidase if needed).

HA fillers are excellent for facial applications — particularly for precise, controlled volume enhancement in smaller areas such as lips, tear troughs, and nasolabial folds. However, they have meaningful limitations when it comes to body contouring:They are temporary — the hyaluronic acid is enzymatically broken down by the body over months. They do not stimulate new collagen or fat production — they simply occupy space until they dissolve. They are synthetic, not biologic, meaning they do not integrate into tissue or support regeneration. For larger body areas, they become cost-prohibitive and physically insufficient — the volumes required for meaningful buttock or hip enhancement would demand an impractical number of syringes at significant expense. They are generally indicated for facial volume enhancement and not designed for structural body contouring.alloClae, on the other hand, provides a biologic material that integrates with the body, stimulates regenerative healing, and can be deployed in the large volumes required for body contouring. As Dr. Shafer noted:

“Fillers are good for small areas like the cheeks, but become cost prohibitive for larger areas. They also do not offer a permanent result such as fat grafting. That is where alloClae comes in.”

The result is gradual. Most patients see the first noticeable improvement between weeks 8 and 12, with full results visible over three to six months. Frequently Asked Questions about alloClae

Undergoing alloClae is a seamless and comfortable experience, designed to fit into even the busiest of lifestyles. Unlike invasive procedures that require liposuction, anesthesia, and extended downtime, alloClae treatments are quick and non-disruptive. Each session typically lasts around 30 to 60 minutes, making it an ideal choice for individuals seeking natural, biologic volume restoration without a significant time commitment.

1. Is alloClae safe? Where does the donor fat come from?

Yes. alloClae is derived from donated human fat tissue sourced exclusively through accredited tissue banks. The material undergoes a rigorous five-step purification and sterilization process that removes donor DNA, cellular debris, and free lipids, and achieves a sterility assurance level of 10⁻⁶. This process dramatically reduces the risk of immune response while preserving the bioactive components that make the treatment effective.

Clinical data show results sustained for 12 to 18 months or more, depending on the area treated and individual physiology. Because the tissue that stabilizes after integration behaves like the body’s own natural fat, longevity can also be influenced by significant weight changes — just as native fat would be.

A traditional fat transfer (autologous fat grafting) requires liposuction to harvest the patient’s own fat, which is then processed and re-injected. alloClae achieves a similar biological result — using real fat tissue to restore volume — without any surgical harvesting. This means no liposuction, no general anesthesia, no operating room, and significantly less downtime. It is also an option for patients who do not have sufficient donor fat for a traditional transfer.

The procedure is performed under local anesthesia, so discomfort during treatment is minimal. Afterward, most patients experience mild swelling, bruising, or tenderness in the treated areas, which typically resolves within a few days. The majority of patients return to their normal daily activities within 24 to 48 hours. Strenuous exercise and sustained pressure on treated areas should be avoided for a short period following treatment.

Yes — and this is one of the most clinically relevant applications for alloClae. Patients who have experienced significant fat volume loss through GLP-1 medications such as semaglutide are excellent candidates, particularly for breast, buttock, hip, and facial volume restoration. alloClae’s large-volume configurations (12.5 cc and 25 cc) make it well suited to address the degree of deflation these patients often present with.

alloClae is not appropriate for patients with severe allergen sensitivities, a documented history of anaphylaxis, or an active infection at or near the intended treatment site. As with any injectable procedure, a thorough consultation with a qualified provider is essential to confirm candidacy and establish realistic expectations.
